Visa Run In Savannakhet Lao PDR:

There are many option to go to Savannakhet Lao PDR from Bangkok, one is go by plane: But there is no direct flight yet from Bangkok to  Savannakhet Lao PDR. What you are going to do is to fly Air Asia And Nokair Airlines from Bangkok. Air Asia or Nokair has flight Bangkok to Mukdahan Thailand, Then Mukdahan to Savannakhet Lao PDR  by bus.

By bus, from Morchit to Mukdahan  then ride a bus from Mukdahan to Savannakhet Lao PDR . I prefer to ride Nakhonchai Air bus company. They charge 584 Thai baht per person. They have offer foods and snacks. And Services is very good.

Other way to go is to hire private car from Bangkok to Mukdahan then ride a bus from Mukdahan to Savannakhet Lao PDR.

You need to pass Thai Immigration  and Laos Immigration before entering  Savannakhet Lao PDR.

For Tourist Visa you need to show your own Thai Book Bank with balance 20,000 Thai baht and up or  print out from your Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up or confirmed onward air ticket within 60 days upon entry.

Laos Arrival Visa Fee is THB 1,500.-. Tourist Visa Single Entry is THB 1,000.-, Non Immigrant Visa Single Entry is THB 2,000.-. Non Immigrant Visa Multiple Entry(Marriage only) is THB 5,000.-.

Bus fair from Mukdahan to Savannakhet Immigration is 50 Thai baht. Then From Lao Immigration to Thai Embassy you need to ride Tuktuk around 50 Thai baht each but you need to go with other to save the cost because some Tuktuk ask around 200-300 Thai baht per trip. 

Thai Embassy in Savannakhet Lao PDR open from Monday-Friday. Note that you need to check Holiday in Thailand and Laos because  Thai Embassy is closed during public holiday in Thailand  and Laos.
